Worcester Magistrates Court: Drink and careless driving

Among the defendants pleading guilty this week are:

Yasmin Jones, from Green Hill, off London Road, Worcester, admitted obstructing a police officer while he was doing his duty and indicated a guilty plea for having pepper spray.

Jones, aged 25, committed the offence on January 21, 2024, in Worcester.

She made her plea on May 7 and was handed a 12-month conditional discharge for both crimes and ordered to pay £85 in Crown Court prosecution costs.

Jones also had to forfeit her pepper spray.

Gareth Llewellyn, from Happy Land North, Worcester, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and failing to surrender to police leading to a warrant for his arrest.

The 56-year-old pleaded guilty to beating a woman on August 20, 2023, and also to the charge of failing to surrender to police at the appointed time on April 11, 2024.

The charge on April 11 saw Llewellyn fail to surrender without reasonable cause to custody at Kidderminster Magistrates Court after being released on bail.

He pleaded guilty to the offence at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 7.

Tyler Atwood, from Ashford Road, Worcester, admitted to driving without insurance. 

Atwood, aged 28, was driving a white Ford Focus without the necessary third-party insurance on December 18, 2023.

He pleaded guilty to the offence at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 7.

Lee Roberts, from Blackthorne Close, Droitwich, has been banned from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.

The 32-year-old was caught driving his Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor Auto on Primsland Way on August 29, 2023.

He was found with 118 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the legal limit is 80 milligrams.

Roberts has been ordered to pay £85 for Crown Court costs and a surcharge of £138 by July 2.

He has been disqualified for 12 months but has a disqualification reduction period of three months.

He pleaded guilty to the offence at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 7.

A 13-year-old from Worcester has pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, obstructing a police officer from doing her job and beating four individuals.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had pleaded guilty to all six incidents at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 8. 

The incidents took place between October 3, 2023, and January 14, 2024, on various days.

Two restraining orders have now been put in place so the 13-year-old cannot contact the victims involved.

A parenting order has also been established and the individual's legal guardian is required to attend regular meetings.

Compensations of four £30 payments and one £50 payment are to be paid to the victims.

He must pay £30 compensation to the victims of the beating offences and a £50 compensation to the strangling victim.

A total of £170 which he must pay at a rate of £40 a month.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted to having a hunting knife at The Crown in Worcester on  February 29, 2023.

The teenager, from Worcester, was found with the knife without a good reason or lawful authority to have it.

On May 8, he pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay a surcharge of £26.

A 15-year-old from Worcester pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm to a woman and also beating another woman on August 23, 2023.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty on May 8 and had to pay £100 to the ABH victim and £50 to the victim of the beating offence.

A total of £150 needs to be paid altogether.

Sajjad Hussain, Merton Close, Worcester, admitted to driving without due care and attention after causing a victim to receive four broken ribs.

The 57-year-old was driving a Citroen Berlingo Multispace on The Butts in Worcester on October 18.

He was given a fine reduced from £807 to £538 and six points on his licence.

He will also need to pay a surcharge of £215 and another cost of £110.

He pleaded guilty on May 8.
