LEDBURY Town Council's newest member is Richard Hadley, above, who was elected in yesterday's by-election.

Mr Hadley, who described himself as "a positive choice for Ledbury" won his seat with 382 votes, defeating David Kettle (241) and Michael Mclaren (165). The overall turnout was 11.49 per cent.

Mr Hadley said: "I want to thank the voters of Ledbury for their support.

"Over the next 12 months our challenge is to build a strong and resilient community.

"The town council must help that happen. I will work hard to support any initiatives which contribute to the well-being of the people in our town."
