STAFF in the kidney dialysis unit at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre are holding a charity raffle in honour of World Kidney Day on Thursday, March 13.

There are approximately 70 patients being treated in the Kidderminster dialysis unit at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre, who all come in for dialysis three times a week.

Prizes for the raffle have been donated from generous local companies. Prizes include: a weekend away to Towyn, North Wales, courtesy of Whitehouse Leisure Park and a year’s free window cleaning, courtesy of Bluefrog Systems.

Healthcare assistant Debbie Pearson said: “We’re astounded at the response to this raffle. The companies that we have approached have all been so supportive and kind."

Sam Pearson, clerical assistant, said: “It’s great to be part of something that’s doing good for people all over the country. Not only are we raising money for Kidney Research UK, but we’re also making people aware of the charity and illnesses related to your kidneys."

Tickets are just £1 for a whole strip and can be purchased online at kidneyresearchuk.org/get-involved/events/KRenalUnitRaffle or by calling 01562 826 371. The prize draw will take place on Friday, March 14.
