THE organisation responsible for planning and paying for health services in south Worcestershire looks set to receive a £900,000 windfall as a result of meeting a number of financial and quality targets.
Speaking at a meeting of the governing board of the South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group on Thursday, March 27, chief operating officer Simon Trickett said the organisation was on target to earn about £3 per person in the region at the start of the coming financial year as part of the Quality Premium scheme.
At the meeting at Worcester’s County Hall Mr Trickett said the cash was awarded for meeting a set of performance indicators.
“We’ve still got a few days left but it does look like we’ll be in the position to earn some of that
“I don’t there are many other CCGs nationally who have achieved this.”
He said discussions would be held with smaller health organisations about how the cash could be used to help them and some would be held in reserve for more large-scale initiatives.
