Worcester College of Technology students aged 19 to 25 with severe learning disabilities carried out the clear-up in the St Andrew's Gardens next to the college as part of Worcester City Council's annual Take Pride campaign today (Friday, May 9).

Sam Davies, a course tutor at the college, said: β€œThe students get really in to it and are passionate about keeping this area clear. It gives them a really good work taster and links to their studies in independent living.

"The students will also be sorting the rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable waste – another important skill to develop.”

They concentrated on the area leading from the gardens down to the fountain and the riverside at South Quay.
