PUPILS from St Mary’s, Worcester have raised more than £1,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.
The Year 8 pupils signed up for the Flourishing Fivers initiative where they are asked to turn £5 into as much money as they can.
The group of 19 pupils raised the £1,100 through a number of fundraising schemes including sponsored events, cake sales and a Christmas bazaar.
St Richard’s Hospice fundraiser Lizzie Brazier said: "This is a fantastic amount for the pupils to have raised.
"They obviously put a lot of thought and energy into the project and are showing themselves to be the entrepreneurs of the future.
"We are very grateful for the donation which will make a big difference helping us to care for our patients and families.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families.
Each year the hospice team supports over 2,500 patients and family members in Worcestershire.
