Meet your councillor at village fete

First published in News by

SALWARPE Fete on Saturday (August 16) will be welcoming the ward's local district councillor to answer questions about issues and listen to ideas on how to improve the area.

Councillor Tony Miller will be at the fete, in the village near Droitwich, between 2pm and 5pm.

His visit to the event is part of the meet your councillor programme, one of Wychavon District Council’s promises.

He said: "These meet your council events provide the perfect opportunity for local residents to make their views known, so I hope for some good weather on Saturday and I hope to meet and chat to as many local people as possible."

No I had to be tied into a chair to restrain / contain my enthusiasm to meet a real live councillor.

How sad you must lead a very lonely life. This event was not for councillors but for the community and in a democratic society councillors do happen to be a part of the community. Maybe you would consider putting your name forward for the elections in May 20125 as in individuals with forthright opinion and an understanding of localism and someone who is prepared top give their time to help others would be an asset to the community so why not go for it!!

tekanis, you are wide off the mark here. For many years unlike local politicians, I have given 40 voluntary hours per week for FREE on older peoples issues, many of them over the actions of political participants. So I won't take lectures from you.
And the last thing on my mind would be to join a group of politically driven people who are required to do as the Party commands first then see if the people fit into the criteria.
If anyone is sad it's those who put their politics before their neighbours, families and friends.
