A TOUGH military-style fitness provider has announced its latest recruit is none other than the current Miss Birmingham.

Beauty queen Katie Stamp has turned to Xtreme Boot Camps for a rigorous training programme to ensure she is in shape for the Macmillan cancer charity 5k Big Fun Run taking place in Birmingham’s Cannon Hill Park next month.

To get race ready Miss Stamp travels from Birmingham to Worcester twice a week for the boot camp where she is put through an hour-long series of military exercises in preparation for the run.

"I needed to up my fitness level in time for this challenge and I saw boot camp as a great way of achieving this,” she said.

"I already knew of Xtreme Boot Camps and along with some truly inspirational stories on its website, I knew the military-trained instructors would ensure I achieve my fitness goal and be ready to run the distance."

Back in May, Miss Birmingham also attended a three-day residential boot camp in preparation for the Miss England 2014 Final where, along with over 70 other hopefuls, she was further put through a tough fitness test by Xtreme Boot Camps.

James Evans, co-founder of Xtreme Boot Camps, said: "I can personally guarantee that Katie will be ready for the Macmillan run in September.

"All our instructors are qualified personal trainers and we will regularly test Katie’s fitness level to ensure she reaches her goal.

"We do this for all our clients who see their fitness improve massively week by week."

Xtreme Boot Camps Worcester runs on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm and Saturdays from 11am to 12pm.
