IT WAS music to young people's ears when they heard Droitwich Lions Ladies were going to donate £500.

The money has been spent on providing new music equipment to Wychavon's Youth Bus which will let the children scratch and blend MP3s of their favourite songs.

Rob Mace, youth bus and outreach officer for Wychavon said: “We’re really thrilled when anyone supports the bus but this donation is a really kind one.

"The young people helped pick out the equipment and are already putting it to good use entertaining themselves and learning new skills.”

The youth bus makes regular stops in villages and Angela Phillips, from Droitwich Lions Ladies, said it sounded like a good idea for young people living in rural areas.

"At the end of the Droitwich Lions Ladies' fundraising year we have to decide what charities or organisations we wanted to donate to.

"We like to include a youth project if we can and having talked about the lack of rural youth centres in this area, one of our members mentioned the Wychavon Youth Bus.

"After finding out more about the bus it seemed such a good idea to actually take the facilities to where they are needed all over the Wychavon area.

"We are thrilled with the music equipment that has been bought with our donation and hope the young people have a lot of fun using it."

For an up to date schedule of stops or to request the Youth Bus to visit a village for a free taster session, call Rob Mace on 07773 031205 or book online at www.wychavon.gov.uk/youthbus.
