A TEAM of ten swimmers from South Worcester Lifeguards recently attended the Yorkshire Speeds competition in Leeds alongside other UK clubs.

Six of the team are pupils from Pershore High School including Helena and Cameron Leach, Luke Betteridge, Amy Weston, Lucy Inett and Jack Betteridge.

The boys 12-14 team, including Thomas Clifford and Cameron Leach, achieved a silver medal.

Amy Weston achieved a bronze medal in the 100m Manikin Tow in the 15-17 year olds and Jack Betteridge put in a massive effort and achieved a bronze medal in the boys 15-17 year olds rope throw.

Amy also stayed on over the weekend to continue to train with the RLSS UK Performance Squad and in November she will be travelling with them to Eindhoven to participate in the International Lifesaving meet, The Holland Cup.

All the swimmers will be training hard over the next few months in preparation for the RLSS UK National Speed Competition in Ponds Forge, Sheffield in February.
