THIS is the smoke-breathing dragon which added an extra element of drama to the St George's Day parade in Worcester today (Sunday).

The dragon took two people more than 300 hours to make and stole the show at Worcester Cathedral as it helped bring to life the story of England's patron saint.

This year's parade was led by the 7th Worcester Scouts and their dragon was able to roar and speak and even say 'good afternoon mayor' said Cam March, the group scout leader.

It is fitted with an amplifier and Wi-Fi to enable it to operate and can produce vapour from its nostrils.

Mr March said: "It has taken over 300 hours to build, breathes smoke and roars so it is visually very intriguing."

The dragon was a closely guarded secret and the 7th Worcester Scouts had to get special permission for the dragon to breathe smoke as it moved around the cathedral.
