A CAR containing archery equipment worth hundreds of pounds was stolen in Leigh Sinton last week.

The black Nissan Juke was taken from a house in the village overnight between Sunday, December 15 and the following day and was later found burned out in a lay-by on the A449 near Monksfield Lane between Malvern and Worcester.

A Border Archery cherry and yew take-down recurve bow, 12 Beman Archery ICS Hunter 400 arrows and several other items including an arm guard, a finger guard and some grey waterproofs were stolen from inside the car.

West Mercia Police Detective Constable Pete Ryland said: “While the victim is upset about the car being stolen he is particularly concerned about the archery equipment.

“He is an enthusiastic sports archer and is keen to get this specialist equipment back.

“I would like to ask that if anyone has been offered these unusual items in suspicious circumstances, or has seen them for sale, to contact police straight away.

“I would also like to ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of the A449 lay-by anytime between Sunday and Tuesday, to get in touch.”
