A CASUALTY is being treated for leg injuries following a crash on the M5 which could cause rush hour tailbacks.
Crews from the West Midlands Ambulance Service were still on scene at around 4.50pm treating a patient who had suffered leg injuries.
Two lanes were closed which resulted in queueing traffic due to an accident at around 3.40pm involving a lorry and a car involved on the M5 southbound between junctions seven and eight.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and two air ambulances were dispatched. Both carriageways were closed for about 10 minutes while the air ambulance landed resulting in tailbacks of 5km northbound and 6km southbound.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: "It will affect most of the peak traffic."
Lane three southbound and all lanes northbound reopened at 4.20pm.
