A GROUP of youngsters from Acorn's Children's Hospice put on their glass slippers and were whisked away for a magical journey to watch a production of Cinderella.

Children from the Three Counties Acorns centre and their families recently went to the performance at Worcester's Swan Theatre thanks to a donation from housing and care provider Sanctuary Group.

The show was performed by amateur pantomime society, Kays Theatre Group.

Susan Sanderson, one of the directors of the pantomime, said she was thrilled with their response.

"We were delighted the children from Acorns were able to attend our performance," she said. " Their faces were lit up throughout the show and they really seemed to enjoy the performance."

Elinor Eustace, corporate and partnerships manager for Acorns, said: "We're extremely thankful to Sanctuary for providing us with tickets for the pantomime.

"Any opportunity for the children to have a trip out of the hospice is gratefully received and they really did have a wonderful evening.

"They continued to laugh and smile long after leaving the theatre and we thank the cast of Kays Theatre Group for helping to make that happen."

The pantomime is running until Sunday (January 26). Tickets are £11 and £6 for members. To book email nicola.horton@sanctuary-housing.co.uk.

Sanctuary, which has chosen Acorn's as it's charity of the year, has so far raised £3,000 through a variety of fundraising activities including dress down days, cakes sales and raffles.
