SOLICITORS have helped raised thousands of pounds for the UK's leading will-writing scheme.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys, which has an office on Deansway in Worcester city centre, has collected just under £16,000 during Will Aid's most recent fundraising campaign.

The firm is the top fundraising company in the West Midlands and the second nationally, having written about 1,200 wills under the scheme which offers people the opportunity to make or update their will in return for a donation to help people in need in the UK and around the world.

This money is shared by nine UK charities; ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

Peter Kelsall, regional legacies officer at Christian Aid, visited the firm’s Worcester office to thank the team for their hard work.

“The support of Harrison Clark Rickerbys is greatly appreciated by Christian Aid," he said.

"Will Aid is very important to Christian Aid as not only do we receive a significant amount in donations, but the campaign also provides an opportunity for people to leave Christian Aid a legacy.”

Hayley Sanders, a chartered legal executive at Harrison Clark Rickerbys, said it was a great scheme.

"We really enjoyed meeting many new clients and would like to thank those who took part and donated so generously and helped make our fundraising efforts such a success," she said.
