CORKS were popping this week as a leading Worcester based business travel company welcomed the captain of the Worcester Warriors to help celebrate moving to a new office.

BookOTel has been operating out of Worcester for nearly 25 years and after a ongoing period of outstanding growth, they have had to relocate their headquarters to the Berkeley Business Park in Warndon.

Worcester Warriors captain, Jonathan Thomas was on hand to help cut the ribbon as friends, family and business acquaintances all gathered for the celebration.

The company, which now employs more than 60 local people, works with companies across the world but they have no intention of moving away from their Worcester home.

Simon Scott, founder and chief executive, said: "Worcester has been our home for nearly 25 years. When we first started, we soon realised that Worcester had lots of call centre trained staff thanks to Kays.

"But there are many other reasons, operating costs are cheaper and as a nationwide service provider, we have no need for an office in London or Birmingham but apart from all that, Worcester is a great place to live and work so why would we go anywhere else."

The company, which is expecting to nearly double its staff in the next five years, is very family led, with nearly every member of the Scott family playing a role.

Nick Scott is Simon’s son and managing director. He said: "Over the years, we’ve had some really interesting projects both close to home and in far off corners of the globe.

"We’ve gone from organising meetings down the road in Nunnery Wood to building a playground in Cambodia. Never a dull moment and it’s so rewarding to see the company thriving, who knows what the future will bring."
