CITY firefighters spent nearly an hour tackling a fire caused by a large birds nest.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called at 5.50pm yesterday (Thursday) to the incident in Georgina Avenue, St John's.
Two crews from Worcester found the blaze in a birds nest in the flue behind a gas fire which they had to remove.
They used a hose reel to extinguish the flames before isolating the gas supply.
