THE Demon Barber of Fleet Street will be given the musical treatment this autumn and budding actors are invited to make the cut.
Player members of the Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society have begun workshops and auditions for Sweeney Todd, with four further workshop sessions being held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 15-16 and Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22-23 in the society's rehearsal hut in Workman's Road, Hampton, Evesham.
These will be followed by auditions at Evesham Arts Centre on Sunday, April 27.
The production tells the story of the barber who made mincemeat of his clients with the help of Mrs Lovett, the pie-shop owner downstairs.
It also lifts the lid on the back story and love interest which forms part of the exciting drama.
Sweeney Todd will be staged at the Evesham Arts Centre from Tuesday to Saturday, September 16-20.
