THE Worcester man arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence has been released without charge.

The 42-year-old was arrested in Rainbow Hill following a hunt involving armed police, dogs and a helicopter.

He has been passed to Kent Police, who want to talk to him in connection with offences committed in their area.

How does that work? Was he on some kind of watch list? Is he a suspect in the offences? Is he just a "Person of Interest"? If he was "Passed on" to Kent, he was not released.

Don't expect a decent report out of the WN, they'd need to employ some proper reporters for that instead of just office staff who just copy the press releases they are sent.

Either the CCTV or a member of the public reported it, following which the usual over reaction occurred.

When it transpired there wasn't a firearm, there were the usual red faces, but fortunately they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as purely by chance he was wanted on warrant somewhere else.
