First published in News

A POPULAR comedian reprises his West End role n a new production of George Bernard Shaw’s.

Alistair McGowan stars as the aristocratic and egocentric Professor of Phonetics Henry Higgins in Pygmalion which comes to Malvern Theatres from Monday, April 28 to Saturday, May 3.

Higgins makes a bet with his friend, the amiable Colonel Pickering that he can transform the manners and speech of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle and pass her off as a lady in society.

This ever-entertaining dramatic tour de force is full of Shaw’s trademark wit, style and provocative insights, as well as a beguiling and enduring humour.

Rula Lenska play Mrs Higgins, Jamie Foreman takes the role of Alfred Doolittle and rising star Rachel Barry will play Eliza.

Daily performances will be held at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on the Wednesday and Saturday.

Tickets range from £15.12 to £31.92 (including a 12 per cent booking fee).
