FIREFIGHTERS were called to Holt Heath today after electricity cables in the area sparked and set fire to conifer trees.

The blaze broke out after the cables arced at about 1.27pm this afternoon.

A fire crew from Worcester was called to the A4133 in Holt Heath and used one hose reel to put our the blaze.

Western Power Distribution were also required to deal with the over head cables.

The electricity supply to a bungalow was affected and that was dealt with as well.

At the same time there was flooding in the roadway, thought to be part of a different incident at the same location.

Severn Trent Water were called to the site.

The fire crews have now left the scene (4.30pm).
