A CYCLIST suffered a minor foot injury after being hit by a car on a busy main road.
The incident happened at 1.13pm today when the car and cyclist were involved in a minor crash on City Walls Road near the roundabout at the junction with St Martin's Gate.
Motorists were subject to lengthy delays in and around the area until mid-afternoon while the situation was monitored by the emergency services at the scene, causing tailbacks in both directions.
The injured cyclist was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.
Police were called to the scene to direct traffic and help clear the area but the road was kept open, with motorists experiencing delays in both directions.
The road was completely cleared and free flowing in both directions by about 3pm.
