A WORCESTER-BASED home care provider has launched a free online guide detailing the signs and symptoms of dementia as well as support available to those suffering from the condition.

As part of a bid to increase awareness of the many aspects of the condition, Blackpole Road-based Radfield Home Care has made the guide available at www.radfieldhomecare.co.uk.

It has been launched as part of this week’s Dementia Awareness Week, a national initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society.

Dr Hannah MacKechnie of Radfield Home Care said she and her colleagues were keen to support the national campaign.

“Dementia awareness is an initiative close to our hearts, particularly as many of our clients’ lives are affected by the disease,” she said.

“As well as championing the Alzheimer’s Society’s annual campaign we have developed a number of our own initiatives to increase local residents understanding of the condition.

“We hope the guide will help individual’s understand the condition and also challenge misconceptions.”
