WORCESTER'S monthly craft fair was as popular as ever despite the downpours of rain throughout the day.

The event, which is held at the Guildhall, saw a variety of craft stalls with gifts and goods on offer from art work to jewellery.

Irisha Golovnina, of Love Pets Portraits, was showcasing her artwork at the Worcester Craft Fair for the first time.

She said: "I have been painting from my childhood in Russia but I started professionally here in England about four years ago.

"I started with just pet portraits but have moved onto people as well and caricatures. We have made some of the paintings into cards, mouse mats, place mats.

"It's been lovely here. It's the first time I have been in here. I hope it will bring more results."

Ester Rainsford, organiser of the event, added: "It has been OK today even with the rain. I think Worcester is never short of people and they enjoy the craft fair.

"Each month we have new people and some of the same and the Guildhall has become a very popular venue."
