TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving four cars earlier today.

The incident happened in Graham Road, Malvern, opposite The Cotford Hotel, after a travelling car, which had a driver and passenger in it, collided with three parked cars and landed on its roof.

Ambulance crews were in attendance and took the two casualties, a man and a woman believed to be in their 30s, to hospital.

A spokesman for Malvern Fire Station said: "We received a call to assist the ambulance service at 11.11am.

"When we arrived on the scene, one casualty was out of the vehicle, which was on it roof, and the other casualty was being assisted out of the over-turned car by ambulance crew members.

"Three of the cars were parked, and the travelling car has collided with them. It seems there were faults with the car's suspension, along with others, which led to it rolling over.

"The scene was made safe and cordoned off as there was a risk of fire due to oil spillages. "Two of the cars sustained minor damage, whereas the third parked car sustained damage to the wheel which will require repairs to make it safe to drive again."

A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police confirmed four officers attended the scene and investigations into the crash are on-going.

The road was re-opened around 12.30pm.
