POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the death of a woman who was involved in a road collision in Herefordshire.

The woman, who was in her 60s, was walking her dog in the village of Dormington at 4.25pm on Friday, June 6, when she was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic near Dormington Court.

She was confirmed dead a short time later. Her dog also died following the collision.

The car driver, a man from the Leominster area, was unhurt.

Sergeant Darren Godsall said: “Our sympathies go out to the woman’s family following this tragic incident. We have launched an investigation into the circumstances and it is vital that we talk to anyone who saw what happened or noticed either the woman walking her dog or the vehicle involved beforehand.

“The smallest detail could be important so please get in touch if you have any information that could help us.”

The Coroner for Herefordshire has been informed and an inquest will open in due course.
