CHILDREN at a Worcester primary school have a revamped garden to enjoy thanks to a team of generous fundraisers.
Members of the Rotary Club of Worcester raised £4,508 - including £1,855 of donations from a range of organisations and individuals - to revamp the garden at Gorse Hill Community Primary School in Hollymount Road, Worcester.
A team of volunteers spent 10 days last October knocking down a delipdated shed on the site, installing a new one and building a willow tunnel for children to enjoy.
The garden was officially opened on Monday, June 9, where new deputy mayor Cllr Roger Knight cut the ribbon alongside his predeccessor Cllr Paul Denham to officially re-open the garden.
"What a wonderful asset this is," he said.
"It's a little oasis and it's just fantastic."
The Rotary Club of Worcester meets every Monday at 12.55pm at Worcestershire County Cricket Club in New Road.
