RUNNERS are being reminded the deadline for entries into this year’s Acorns Triple Run is approaching fast.

Fundraisers wanting to take part must apply by this Wednesday (June 18).

So far more than 1,000 participants have signed up for the event which is taking place Sunday, June 22.

It is being held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The event consists of three courses, the 1kmfun run, the 5km woodland trail and the Malvern half marathon.

Shujea Khatun, Acorns major events officer, said: "So far 1,050 people have signed up to take part in the Acorns Triple Run. We’re really pleased with the numbers but we’re holding a final push to sign up more participants.

"Acorns Children's Hospice doesn’t charge families for making use of its services, regardless of the ever increasing costs involved. We rely heavily on public fundraising and voluntary donations from events such as this provide us with the majority of the funding we need to operate."
