POWER tools worth £5,000 were stolen during a break in at a building supply merchant.
Thieves broke into Travis Perkins in Bond Street, Malvern Link, after creating a hole in the roof through asbestos tiles and plasterboard between 5.15pm on Monday, June 9 and 7.15am on Tuesday, June 10.
They also removed polystyrene tiles from the suspended ceiling below in order to gain access to the tool hire department in one corner of the building before stealing up to eight power tools including saws and nail guns, and exiting through the hole in the roof.
It is believed they placed a large ladder belonging to the company against the side of the building in order to access the roof from the other side of fence surrounding the premises and yard.
Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency number 101.
