An urgent hunt for an 84-year-old woman who went missing in Pershore was called off after she was found safe and well back at her home on Merseyside.

Police issued an appeal urgently for the public’s help in tracing the elderly lady who disappeared while attending a graduation ceremony with her family at Pershore College. At 4pm on Wednesday she went outside into the college’s grounds and had not been seen since.

Her family and police were extremely concerned about her welfare, not least because she has a serious heart condition.

But Edna Davies was later discovered in West Kirby after making her own way home.
