A HORSE was stuck in the mud in Pershore for hours on Thursday morning before specialist crews were called in to rescue it.

The fire service were called at 9.01am to Defford Road, Pershore, where the brown horse was stuck in two foot of clay mud and a stream.

Specialist animal rescue and water rescue crews from Pershore assisted in the rescue, which took about an hour and ten minutes, using straps and mechanical equipment.

The fire control service said the horse appeared to be healthy following the rescue but very muddy.

It was believed the horse had been stuck in the mud for a few hours before it was found and the emergency services were called.

These taxpayer funder Emergency services are doing a brilliant job.
We hope the owner of the horse will gratefully fund the cost of this operation.
Most accountants woudl consider a one-off charge of £10,000 to provide these resources:
One fire crew,
One fire engine costing £175,000
One fire control centre costing several million.

Will the owner of the horse please confirm when they have made their donation, thank you.
