THE beautiful surroundings of Cripplegate Park gave the perfect backdrop to an intimate afternoon of poetry.
Aspiring poets and creative writers gathered in the city centre park to hear poems inspired by Worcester's green spaces.
Poet Sue Johnson led the session organised by Michelle Newell, community engagement team leader and tutor, which was attended by about 15 people.
The event was run as part of the nine-day Worcestershire Literary Festical.
Polly Robinson, LitFest secretary, said: "It proved a popular, well-attended event during which the poets read poems they had created over the past year or so at the marvellous poetry events organised by Michelle Newell.
"Worcestershire LitFest and Fringe are delighted that the Parks Department took part in the festival again this year."
