CONTENTIOUS plans for a shared chief executive for the Malvern Hills and Wychavon councils will be back on the agenda this week.
At an extraordinary meeting of Malvern Hills District Council of Tuesday, council leader David Hughes will call for last month's decision to share the two top posts to be reconsidered.
He will tell councillors that the amendment introduced at the June meeting, that the new joint post should be "subject to open competition", will have "very serious risks and consequences".
He says these could include recruitment and redundancy costs in excess of £350,000, and the risk of legal action.
His notice of motion is backed by 13 other councillors.
At the same meeting, Lib Dem leader Tom Wells, with three colleagues, will introduce another notice of motion calling for any redundancy payments to be kept to the statutory minimum.
The meeting is at 7pm at the Council Chamber, Avenue Road.
