THE HIVE in Worcester is backing an initiative to get children turning those pages this summer.
The Reading Agency's challenge is for youngsters, aged 4 to 11, to read six books during the long summer holiday.
Every time a child finishes a book they get Mythical Maze stickers, which have a fantasy theme, and there is a certificate and medal for everyone who finishes.
All children who have read at least four books will be invited to an event in Croome to meet children's author Stephen Cole, the writer of Astrosaurs and Cows in Action, on Thursday August 14 from 10am to 4pm.
Vouchers for free entry to this event will be issued by the Hive, where children can sign up for the challenge.
