A NEW season of talks, workshops and competitions for Droitwich Spa Photographic Society will begin on Monday, September 1.

New members are welcome to join the club which meets every Monday at Chawson Barn, Old Chawson Lane, Droitwich from 8pm.

The club's first two sessions of the year are particularly geared to people just starting out with their photography.

Following the introductory session at the first meeting, the club hosts its first guest speaker on Monday, September 8 when fine art photographer Tony Winfield runs an introduction to digital photography.

The club runs its first competition of the season on Monday, October 6 with people invited to submit printed images on any subject or images for digital projection on the subject of urban photography.

Chair Al Haden said: “Here at Droitwich Spa Photographic Society we value making friends as highly as making good images.

"No matter what level of experience someone has, we will try to help their photography improve in a relaxed and friendly environment.

“At meetings members share what they’ve learnt or are learning with each other, try to solve each other's problems and support each other’s photography. "We’re a small and friendly club and we welcome people of any ability or experience.”
