FROM medieval Guildhalls to Sikh temples and Second World War classrooms, people can step back in time to explore the history of the Midlands next month.

As part of Heritage Open Days, which runs from Thursday, September 11 to Sunday, September 14, people can explore for free places which are usually closed to the public or that you usually have to pay to see.

Almost 600 free events are taking place around the Midlands, giving people the chance to see some of the most beautiful architecture and historic places in the area.

Attractions open to the public include Hanbury Hall in Droitwich, Greyfriars House and Garden in Worcester, parts of Worcester Cathedral, Worcester Guildhall and Pershore Abbey.
