TOLLADINE Road in Worcester has been reopened after bricks began to fall from a railway bridge.
The driver of a HGV, who was driving under the bridge at about 9.20pm last night, called West Mercia Police after she saw a number of bricks falling off the bridge onto the road.
The road was closed and the Highways department at Worcestershire County Council were called to clear the debris from the carriageway. A structural engineer was sent to the scene to ensure the bridge was safe.
Buses servicing Tolladine Road were running diversions around the area past the end of Padmore Street and the railway station under the bridge into Sheriff Street.
The road was reopened at about 11am this morning.
There were no recorded injuries.
