POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash which killed a man in his sixties.

The collision involved a Landrover Freelander which was being driven on the A448 Stratford Road towards the High Street, Bromsgrove, when it collided with a lamp post on Monday at 3.30pm.

The front seat passenger, a man in his sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other rear passengers were uninjured.

The driver of the vehicle, a 44 year old man, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently in custody.

Sergeant Lee Baker said: “Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of the passenger, during this sad time.

"We will be continuing with our investigations and would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the Landrover prior to the incident to contact us.”
