SEPTEMBER is the month for spiders... and they're making themselves noticed in our homes.
We see them more because they’ve been feeding and growing bigger all summer.
It is the breeding season now and male spiders are off a-courting... and quite often their quests for a partner entail crossing your living room carpet!
We asked fans of our Facebook page if they had any spiders in their homes, and they replied with these pictures:
1. Whoa! I hope (for all our sakes) this is no ordinary house spider. Katie Taylor, please tell us it's not true!
2. Oh, no! Another monster! Craig Carlos Turner sent this in. Fortunately, it look like it's tucked away safely in a tank.
3. That's a bit more like it, though there are two of them... and they're still rather big. Don't worry; Natalie Francesca Gowing is on the case with her broom.
4. So what do you do with the ones in the bath? Wash them down the plug hole or ease them onto a piece of tissue and drop them out of the window? Julie Stephenson, what did you do?
5. Shannon Brimmell, don't smack him with a newspaper. You'll never get the remains off the wallpaper.
6. Don't they just love hanging around where your curtains meet your skirting boards? Jason Patrick spotted this denizen of the drapes.
7. Gotcha! So, Michelle Chadney, you've got the little blighter trapped. But what are you going to do now?

11. Sara Jayne Clark: This beast was on my dinning room wall a week ago.
12. Sarah Guinan: This fatty was living in my porch until my boyfriend made me evict the eight-legged beast.
13. Josie Haddy: I'm evicting one every other day at the moment.
14. "Let me in!" This fearsome little critter was hanging around outside Dave Grubb's window.
15. Sharon Joy: My mate. He stayed on the fence for hours after I chucked it out. Reckon he was gonna break back in!

And while we're at it, here are seven ways to keep spiders OUT of your home:
- Clear plants from near windows. When it gets cool the spiders will creep up your walls and move inside.
- Switch off outside lights. They attract insects that spiders feast on.
- Keep it clean clean so they have fewer places to hide, and get rid of webs.
- Seal cracks in walls so they have fewer places to hid
- Only use pesticide if you a desperate, and then only in the corners of rooms and cracks.
- Essential oils such as peppermint and citrus are believed to deter spiders.
- Conkers or bonkers? Some people say conkers placed in the corner of a room keep spiders away. I'm yet to be convinced.
