A FUNDRAISING Big Breakfast organised by Worcestershire County Council and the council’s catering company Aspens Services raised a bumper £1,100 for the British Lung Foundation.

Council chief executive Clare Marchant donned kitchen whites to join the county hall catering team for the charity event working alongside Aspens managing director John Roe and the council's chief financial officer Sean Pearce.

Staff at the county council tucked into a huge variety of breakfasts on the day and Aspens donated the day’s takings from the event to the British Lung Foundation.

"I thoroughly enjoyed serving breakfast for such a great cause, said Mrs Marchant.

"The support from the Aspens team as well as staff and members was fantastic and so encouraging. It was good to have a change of job for the morning and raise an incredible amount for charity."

Aspens managing director John Roe added: "It was great fun on the day and we had tremendous support from everyone at the county council.

"Our team served an all-day breakfast as we wanted to get as many people along as possible and the response was absolutely fantastic. We’re really delighted the event has brought in so much money for such an important organisation."
