POLICE have launched a murder inquiry after discovering the bodies of a man and a woman at a house in Worcester.

The death of the woman, believed to be 29-years-old, is being treated as suspicious and officers are investigating it as murder.

But the death of the man, thought to be 21-years-old, has been classed as non-suspicious.

West Mercia Police discovered the bodies at a property in Debdale Avenue, Warndon Villages, at 5pm on Tuesday (October 6) after receiving a report expressing concern for both of the occupants.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

It is believed the incident was contained to the house and police are not looking for anyone else.

Detective chief inspector Neil Austin said: "We received a report from a person who was concerned that they had not heard from either party since Sunday. Officers attended the property where they discovered the bodies.

"We are investigating the circumstances leading up to their deaths and would appeal for anyone with information to come forward."

The families of the deceased have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
