VISITORS to Worcester’s Foodie Festival can tickle their tastebuds with a punchy chutney or a crunchy stick of rock.

Free food tasting sessions will be held outside the Guildhall and will feature the Worcester Warrior Chutney, an award winning hot and strong onion chutney from Myrtle’s Kitchen in Bromyard, and the colourful Worcester Rock.

The sessions will be at the Worcester Tourist Information Centre, to the left of the Guildhall, tomorrow.

The festival kicks off in the city today, running from 10am until 5.30pm today and tomorrow and from 11am until 4pm on Sunday.

This year, the free Worcester BID-run festival boasts more than 70 food and drink stalls, cookery demonstrations from chef Dean Edwards and a range of children’s activities.

At the TIC, children can enter a sweet-themed colouring competition, with sheets needing to be returned by 4pm on Sunday for the chance to win a goodie bag and a bucket and spade.

Nadja von Dahlen, Worcester BID, said: “The festival is a great opportunity for people to discover and experience our fantastic city centre food and drink outlets, whether it’s by visiting the street stalls or venturing into businesses for a tasty treat.”
