THE Mayor of Worcester celebrated the Muslim festival of Eid with city children as he urges the community to unite against hatred.
Cllr Paul Denham and the Mayoress, Cllr Lynn Denham, met children at the party at the Horizon Centre in Midland Road, Worcester, on Thursday (July 28) to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid.
He said: “At a time when there are so many stories of ethnic minority people being abused, this party was a great example of communities working together.
"It is marvellous when people in Worcester can reach out and together celebrate their different traditions.”
The party was organised by Worcester Community Trust and was attended by over 100 people, including many families with children.
