DOGS will be celebrated with a range of stalls and a show devoted to the canine community.

Bark in the Park returns to Gheluvelt Park Riverside Conservation Area, organised by the team behind local web app PooWatch.

The event is a mixture of dog related stalls and information stands, a fun dog show, a digital pawtrait gallery and a mutt memorial wall.

Anda Phillips from Team PooWatch said: "We’re looking forward to the day; it’s important to celebrate the responsible dog owners who clean up after their dogs as dog owners and walkers can get a bad name.

"This year we have a new mutt memorial wall to commemorate departed pets.

"We are looking for people to email photos of their dogs to teampoowatch@gmail.com if they would like us to print the pictures out in readiness for the day.

"Alternatively people can bring printed photos on the day.

"All photos should include the pet's name and a comment."

Attending this year are Akela foods that specialise in ancestral diets for modern dogs.

Local vets MacArthur, Barstow and Gibbs are on hand to offer free dental and microchip checks.

Worcester Animal Rescue and Hall Green Retired Greyhound Trust are on site to give information and advice on their rehoming services.

Canine Connections dog behaviourist will also be there promoting kind, effective and force free methods of dog training.

Along with local dog walking services, dog treats and artists to help the dog owner, care and celebrate their canine companions.

The event opens at 11am and runs until 3pm on Sunday May 21 outside the Pump House Environment Centre.

The fun dog show is free to enter and open to all, there’s no need to register just turn up and listen for the call into the ring.
