YOUNGSTERS at the Commandery in Worcester have been getting hands-on with wacky science experiments.
The museum in Sidbury marked the school half-term by holding workshops based on Worcester;s connections with the Royal Society, the UK's scientific academy founded in the 17th century.
Children honoured the spirit of the society's illustrious names with a series of fun experiments, including making button catapults, creating 'elephant's toothpaste', a mix of chemicals that generate huge amounts of foam, making magnetic mud, and using baking soda and vinegar to fill balloons with gas.
Charlie Fothergill at the Commandery said: "It's been lovely weather, so we had the children doing the experiments outside and it has been great fun."
