CHURCH visitors are being welcomed to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent with an informal service this weekend.
To celebrate the beginning of Advent, St Andrew's Church in Droitwich is hosting a fun service on Sunday, November 27 at 3pm.
There will be songs and activities to teach youngsters the meaning behind the Christian tradition, along with free chocolates for attendees to hang on their Christmas trees.
The Reverend Bev Jameson, team vicar at Droitwich Spa, Salwarpe and Hindlip with Martin Hussingtree, and Dean of Women’s Ministry in the Diocese of Worcester, said: "It is a great way to begin advent and the run up to Christmas. Everyone of any age will really enjoy it."
The service lasts no longer than 45 minutes and there is tea, coffee and cake in the parish centre afterwards.
