WORCESTER Raiders lost 2-1 to Kington Town as a battling performance was not enough to win a tight match.

Raiders’ goal in the West Midlands League Division One encounter was thanks to a penalty converted by Anthony Smith.

They had the ball in the net on two more occasions only to be ruled out by the referee.

Raiders look to put it right tomorrow night at home to Wrens Nest at Claines Lane (6.30pm).

Many other local weekend football fixtures were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Also tomorrow night (7.45pm), Hereford FC and Alvechurch continue their battle for the Midland League Premier Division title at third-placed Sporting Khalsa and at home to Brocton respectively.

Hereford are 10 points ahead and Alvechurch have two games in hand.

In Division One, Pershore Town visit Pelsall Villa and Littleton go to Heath Hayes tonight (both 7.45pm).

Promotion-chasing Droitwich Spa head to Paget Rangers in Division Two (7.30pm).

Malvern Town head to Black Country Rangers and Bromyard Town have a Herefordshire derby at Pegasus Juniors (both 7.45pm).
