Asian beauty queen
A Waddon teenager could be taking the first steps on the path to fame after coming runner up in a national beauty competition and landing a modelling contract.
Nineteen-year-old Reena Gogna finished runner up in the 2002 Miss Asia contest.
Reena Gogna, 19, of Stafford Road, won the prize for finishing runner-up in the Miss Asia 2002 competition, and said she would love to use the award as a springboard to a career as a presenter.
The first year architecture student at Westminster University told the Guardian: "I never thought I'd get that far, but you have to give it a go and see what happens."
Coming second in the competition, held at an Earls Court hotel last December, has already led to appearances on radio and an audition for one modelling job, and Reena said she hoped to travel to India soon to see if she could find work there.
She said: "Education is always going to help me and be a back up, but if a great opportunity comes up, I'm going to go for it. You never know what's going to happen tomorrow."
