Bomb joke' man home from US jail

Borehamwood man Loveland Adjei spent a month in New York's Rikers Island jail after making an ill-judged joke to an air stewardess.

Early last month Mr Adjei spent a week's holiday in America, but on his return journey he got into trouble when he told an air stewardess that he "didn't have a bomb".

The stewardess handed Ghanaian-born Mr Adjei to the FBI, and he was charged with falsely reporting an incident.

After spending a month in prison, the case against 33-year-old Mr Adjei was dismissed, and he returned home to Borehamwood.

He said the incident had affected his work and marriage, and left him feeling angry.
