DETAILS have emerged what the people of Blackheath can expect when their new landmark library on the High Street opens.

As well as being one of the most eco-friendly buildings in Sandwell local residents will be pleased to know what services will be on offer.
The multi-million pound new building, which is being house the new Library and the headquarters of the Black Country Housing Group, will replace the 1909 Blackheath Library on Carnegie Road.
After countless delays and false dawns the project was given the go-ahead by Sandwell Council and is set to be completed by the end of the year.
New Blackheath Councillor Malcolm Bridges believes the library will give the town centre a much needed boost.
He said: "The library is really taking shape now and I think it will transform the High Street and become a focal point for the town. I'm sure lots of people will be using all the services that will be on offer in the library."
The new library is set to become a magnet computers users with more computers being installed and free internet access available.
The designers have decided to make the library welcoming for all age groups with three bright and welcoming areas for children, families and teenagers.
The library is set to become a hub for the community with local charities, groups and organisations being given the chance to use state-of-the-art meeting rooms.
And the popular self-service terminals which have been hit across the other libraries in the borough will be installed to help speed up customer service.
The council were quick to dispel fears that the reference section of the library will not be as extensive as first thought.
A spokesman for Sandwell Council said: “There will be a wide range of books for leisure and recreational reading.
“Newspapers will be available as well as magazines, general reference and a local history section in the library.”
“There will be also advice and guidance sessions, learning opportunities such as learning basic IT and obtaining job information.”
